Immediately following the talk, you are invited to attend a

to welcome Consul-General McCarthy to Houston!

Consul-General of Ireland Claire McCarthy visits UST and Houston
to speak about the state of the BREXIT negotiations and other
current events affecting Ireland.

She joined the Consulate General of Ireland in Austin in August
2019. She has previously served in the Embassies of Ireland in
Uganda and Zambia as well as in a number of Dublin-based
assignments. Before joining the foreign service, Consul-General
McCarthy specialized in youth participation and access to third level
education. Consul-General McCarthy has an MA in Women’s
Studies and a BA in Law and European Studies from the University
of Limerick. She is from Bandon, County Cork.
